Tony Haggarty - Managing Director
Tony has over 30 years experience in the development, management and financing of mining companies and was co-founder and Managing Director of Excel Coal Limited from 1993 to 2006. Prior to this he worked for BP Coal and BP Finance in Sydney and London, and for Agipcoal as the Managing Director of its Australian subsidiary. He is also non-executive Chairman of King Island Scheelite Limited and a non-executive director of IMX Resources Limited.
Allan Davies - Executive Director
Allan is a mining engineer and has 35 years experience in the Australian and international coal and metalliferous mining industries. He is a registered mine manager in Australia and South Africa. Allan was a founding director of Excel Coal Limited and as Executive Director- Operations for Excel Coal Limited, Allan had direct responsibility for operations and construction projects. From 2000 until early 2006, Allan worked for Patrick Corporation as Director operations. Allan is a non-executive director of QR Limited, a member of the Advisory Board of the Kaplan Infrastructure and Logistics Fund and a non-executive director of QMastor Limited.
Andy Plummer - Executive Director
Andy has over 35 years experience in the investment banking and mining industries. He was most recently an executive director of Excel Coal Limited, responsible for the company's business development activities. He has worked in the Australian banking and finance industry since 1985 with Eureka Capital Partners, Resource Finance Corporation and Westpac. Prior to that, he was employed in a variety of management and technical positions with ARCO Coal, Utah International and Consolidation Coal. He is also a non-executive director of King Island Scheelite Limited and Chairman of Ranamok Glass Prize Ltd.
Austen Perrin - Chief Financial Officer
Austen has been with Whitehaven Group since 2008, as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary. He has over 20 years experience in the transport and infrastructure industry, including Chief Financial Officer at Asciano Limited and the Chief Financial Officer at Toll NZ Limited.
Timothy Burt - General Counsel & Company Secretary
Timothy joined Whitehaven as General Counsel and Company Secretary in July 2009. Prior to that he held senior legal roles at a number of listed Australian companies including Boral Ltd, United Group Ltd and Australian National Industries Ltd. Timothy has completed Chartered Secretaries Australia's Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance.
Brian Cullen - General Manager, Technical Services
Brian is a mining engineer and has 29 years experience in the Australian coal mining industry. Prior to joining Whitehaven Brian was a consulting mining engineer and spent eight years at the Ulan Coal Mine, finishing in the position of Technical Services Manager. He has experience in both the Central Queensland and the Newcastle coalfields. Brian is a Chartered Professional Mining Engineer and a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Casper Dieben - General Manager, Open Cut Operations
Casper is a civil engineer with more than 25 years experience in coal and metalliferous open cut mining operations throughout Australia. Prior to joining Whitehaven in April 2007, Casper was employed for 28 years with Roche Mining/Downer EDI Mining - initially as Project Engineer on various civil and construction projects, then Project Manager on a number of large construction and mining operations - including the Argyle Diamond Mine prestrip contract. From 1995 he was Operations Manager responsible for the company's open cut mining operations in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Greig Duncan - General Manager, Narrabri
Greig joined the mining industry as a cadet with the Queensland Coal Association in 1974, gaining his mine managers qualifications in the late 70s. Since 1981 Greig has been managing existing mines or overseeing the development of new operations in both NSW or Queensland. More recently, Greig was the General Manager of the Austar Mine near Cessnock, overseeing the introduction of the first Longwall Top Coal Caving system into Australia. Greig has been general Manager of Narrabri since late 2008.
Tony Galligan - General Manager, Infrastructure
Tony Galligan has almost 40 years experience in the coal industry and prior to joining Whitehaven in 2006 he worked in senior positions in the NSW Government including Director, Minerals Development, Director Coal and Chief Coal Geologist. Mr Galligan also worked for many years in the coal industry and government in Queensland.
